Chilton Croft is privately owned, which allows us to always put residents first and adapt swiftly to every potential need.
Our 32 single rooms, soon to be extended to 39 with the exciting addition of new accommodation, are created for comfort and safety. Each room is fitted with a call button, television point, landline, mobile phone and internet access. Residents can also bring furniture and many choose to personalise with pictures or mementos to establish familiar surroundings.
The décor at Chilton Croft is designed to be engaging and uplifting. Walls adorned with memory boxes, together with scenes, themes and memorabilia chosen as inspirational conversation points enable residents to reminisce, recognise and live in the moment, which many find comforting and reassuring.

Meals
Mealtimes are a relaxed affair, with first-class catering and delicious home-cooked food created by our chef and nutritional experts. Freshly prepared, balanced menus, tailored and delivered by our culinary team, provide excellent dishes with plenty of choice for health and hydration. Together with a resident’s kitchenette, the hostess trolley laden with goodies provides tasty treats three times a day.
Recreation
A hive of activity, there’s always plenty to do and see at Chilton Croft. We offer fantastic facilities in a friendly environment with engaging activities, entertainment and a secure garden.
Some residents take shopping trips to town or visit the nearby library, while others prefer arts and crafts, board games and puzzles. We have a superb hair salon, which is always popular, and there is a quiet lounge for reading, writing, drawing and relaxation. Those who like to immerse in nature adore our pretty flower, herb and vegetable garden where residents can take part in planting or simply enjoy the open air and summer barbecues. Music is also an important part of communication at Chilton Croft as it evokes happy emotions and responses; we have a playlist of songs from different eras and invite a pianist and singer to visit us for a singalong.

Location
Chilton Croft is set within the historic market town of Sudbury, located on the River Stour near the Essex border in the English county of Suffolk. The birthplace of Thomas Gainsborough, Sudbury is well known for its natural beauty, and the surrounding countryside inspired much of his work. Collections on show exhibit a large number of Gainsborough’s paintings, as well as those of other artists.
